what does BIOS mean?

The term BIOS stands for Basic Input Output System, the system that is responsible for controlling the startup of a PC's hardware (such as the CPU or graphics card) and enabling the startup and loading of the operating system (such as Windows 10).

what is the purpose of entering the BIOS?

Entering the BIOS of our computer can be used to define the boot order of the different hard disks or USB drives we have in our PC. It is also useful to access the BIOS to configure the operating speed of some of the components of our PC such as the RAM memory or the processor. Or it can even be used to update the BIOS itself, since doing so by accessing it from the BIOS itself guarantees greater security and effectiveness

when should I access the BIOS?

The right time to access the BIOS is during POST, during the boot of the operating system. This situation occurs after turning on or restarting your computer, and it is at that moment when you should press one of the keys mentioned above. It is advisable to press the key more than once until you can access the BIOS

Accessing the BIOS from Windows 10

If we have the Windows 10 operating system installed, there is a very simple formula to access the BIOS directly. We will have to access the system recovery menu or type BIOS in the Windows start menu and enter the 'Change Advanced Startup Options' menu. Then we will click on Advanced Startup to restart the PC in a different mode than usual. We click on Troubleshoot Problems and Advanced Options. Finally we will click on the UEFI Firmware Configuration option. In this way our computer will reboot and enter the BIOS
